Direct Admission Pilot Program in California
Direct admissions programs are designed to simplify the college entry process by automatically admitting eligible students based on their high school records, bypassing traditional application requirements. This approach can reduce barriers for students who may be discouraged by complex application processes and fees.
California State University (CSU) is among the institutions testing this approach, with a pilot targeting Riverside high school seniors to assess its effectiveness in boosting enrollment and supporting students from diverse backgrounds.

Approximately 12,000 county high school students will receive direct admission to the CSU for fall 2025 before submitting an application.
