November College Updates: Deadlines, FAFSA, and What Comes Next #collegeadvice #collegeapplication

Here are the most important college application updates and deadlines you need to know for November.
November is one of the most important months in the college process. Early Action, Restrictive Early Action, and Early Decision deadlines fall on November 1 and November 15. If your application is not ready, it is better to move to Early Decision II, Early Action II, or Regular Decision. A strong, complete application with the essays and stories you want to share is better than rushing to meet a deadline.

Plan to submit your applications a few days early. This gives you time to confirm that everything was received and to fix any last-minute issues if needed. After you submit, look for an email confirmation from each college. If you do not receive one, call the admissions office to confirm that your application went through.

Financial aid forms are now open. FAFSA is live and will email you a confirmation once your information is received, along with your Student Aid Index. The CSS Profile is also open for schools that require it.

Pay close attention to school-specific deadlines. The University of Washington has a hard deadline of November 15. Cal States and UC applications are typically due November 30, but since it falls on a Sunday the UC and Cal State applications are due Monday, December 1 to accept applications and answer your questions. The offices will be open to answer questions. Submit early for both UC and Cal State applications, since their systems often slow down or crash on the final day.

Throughout November, stay organized. Check your application portals regularly, make sure transcripts and letters of recommendation are in, and confirm that your materials are complete.

Submitting early, staying organized, and double-checking your materials can make a big difference this month. If you want help reviewing your application checklist or planning your next steps, reach out.
