What is the CSS Profile?

The College Scholarship Service (CSS) Profile is an additional financial document that some colleges require in order to be considered for financial aid along with the FAFSA.  Because FAFSA this year will not open until this December, the CSS Profile is being used more to consider financial aid for Early Action students.

Most Early Decision schools require completion of the CSS Profile to make a decision of acceptance, which ultimately means your financials are also being considered during the acceptance process.  Early Decision means you must take their acceptance and financial offer, if any.

You can review the schools accepting the CSS Profile and learn more about the process at https://cssprofile.collegeboard.org/.
